토익 스피킹 - Style 2 : 사진을 설명해보자

※ 다음은 토마토 Speaking flow의 내용을 참고하여 작성하였습니다.

 토익 스피킹 두 번째 스타일은 사진 한 장을 가지고 설명하는 것이다. 30초간 사진을 보면서 설명할 것을 생각하고 45초 동안 설명해야 한다. 설명 시간 보다 준비가 더 짧으므로 지문 읽기 처럼 준비시간 동안 말할 내용와 똑같이 연습하면 안 되고 사진을 보면서 중요 단어만 떠올리도록 해야 한다.

 또 문장에 있어서도 일관성이 있어야 한다. 45초니까 8문장에서 9문장 정도 말해야 하고, 단문만 나열하지 말고 부드럽게 잘 넘어가도록 해야 한다. 쉬울 것 같지만 그렇다고 아주 쉽지만은 않은 문제다.

 조금밖에 없으니까 더 편할 것 같은데 오히려 45초 동안 설명 하려면 매우 어렵다. 그리고 단어를 떠올릴 때는 그냥 간편한 단어로 떠올리지 말고 구형태로 떠올려야 한다고 한다.

 비록 미천한 실력이지만 이 그림을 보고 떠올려보자면 다음과 같다. a smiling woman, in a blue swimming pool, a dolphin opening a mouth, several white columns, dolphin's keeper

We can see a woman and a dolphin in a blue swimming pool.
On the right, a smiling woman is next to a dolphin opening a mouth.
I think a woman in black clothes is dolphin's keeper.
In the background of the picture, there are many guests behind a woman and dolphin. 
But they are very small so I can't see them precisely.
And there are several white columns surrounded by beautiful sunshine.
Overall, I guess they have a good time in a swimming pool.

[해석]
푸른 수영장에 여자와 돌고래가 있다. 
오른쪽에, 웃고 있는 여자가 입을 벌리고 잇는 돌고래 옆에 있다.
내가 생각하기에 검은 옷을 입은 여자는 돌고래의 조련사같다.
사진 뒷배경을 보면, 여자와 돌고래 뒤로 많은 손님이 있다.
그렇지만 그들이 너무 작아서 정확히 볼 수 없다.
그리고 하얀 기둥 몇몇은 아름다운 햇살에 둘러싸여있다.
전체적으로, 그들은 수영장에서 좋은 시간을 보내는 것 같다.

한 번 만들어봤는데 이걸로 백점 맞기에는 힘들 것 같다. ^^;;

There's a woman behind a woman wearing a blue gown.
I guess she is the hairdresser because she is washing a woman's hair in front of her.
In the background of the picture, there are a black curtain and a blue window.
Overall, they are ready for a makeover in the beauty salon.

[해석]
이 사진은 미용실에 세 명의 여자가 있는 사진이다.
오른쪽에, 긴 머리에 웃고 있는 여자는 검은 세면대를 잡고 있다.
그리고 그녀는 옆에 있는 여자를 다정하게 바라보고 있다.
왼쪽에는 파란 가운을 입은 여자가 앉아서 검은 세면대에 기대고 있다.
파란 가운을 입은 여자 뒤에 여자가 한 명 있다.
내가 생각하기에 그녀는 미용사 같은데 왜냐하면 그녀가 앞에 있는 여자의 머리를 감기고 있기 때문이다.
사진 뒷배경에는 검은 커튼과 파란 창문이 있다.
전체적으로, 그들은 미용실에서 메이크 오버를 준비하고 있는 것이다.

[단어 떠올리기]

[실제 말하기]
This is a picture of a beach's landscape.
In the foreground of the picture, there is an old boat with paddles between a blue boat and a red boat.
In the middle of the picture, we can see the another red boat and there's a path to beach.
Next to a path, there are many rocks of variety shapes.
In the background of the picture, we can see a beach covered with soft foams.
The sharp cliff and the beach are face to face.
Overall, I can say it's a scene of a beach in the cloudy weather.

[해석]
이 사진은 해변의 풍경이다.
사진 앞부분에는 노와 같이 있는 낡은(오래된) 배가 파란 배와 붉은 배 사이에 있다.
사진 중간에는 또 다른 붉은 배를 볼 수가 있고 해변으로 아주 좁은 길이 나있다.
좁은 길 옆에는 다양한 형태의 돌이 많이 있다.
사진 뒷배경에는 부드러운 거품으로 뒤덮인 해변을 볼 수 있다.
날카로운 절벽과 해변이 마주하고 있다.
전체적으로 비오는 날의 바다 풍경이라고 말할 수 있겠다.

[말하기]
This is a picture of a smiling girl.
The girl wearing a green dress is holding a piggy-bank in her hand.
The girl tied her hair in two braids. And she is looking at a camera and standing on wood floor.
There's a table and several chairs behind the girl.
I think the owner of furniture is very diligent because furniture are very polished.
Overall, she is very happy because she would like to saving her money.

[해석]
이 사진은 웃고 있는 소녀의 사진이다.
소녀는 녹색 원피스를 입고 돼지 저금통을 그녀 손에 쥐고 있다.
소녀는 머리를 두 갈래로 묶었다. 그리고 그녀는 카메라를 보면서 나무 바닥 위에 서있다.
소녀 뒤에는 테이블과 몇몇 의자가 있다.
내가 생각하기에는 가구들이 말끔한 걸 보니 가구 주인이 꽤 부지런한 것 같다.
그녀는 돈을 저금하려고 하는 것 때문에 행복해보인다.

[말하기]
This a picture of five people.
In the middle, a man wearing a blue shirt is holding a pen and some pictures.
Except a man wearing a blue shirt, the rest of crew is staring him.
On the left, a man with glasses has short hair and his fist closed.
A woman next to him is folding her hands.
On the right, a woman with long hair is grabbing her orange diary.
And I can't see the woman next to her.
Overall, I think four peoples seem to get autograph because maybe the man in the middle is a celebrity.

[해석]
다섯 사람의 사진이다.
사진 중간에는 파란색 셔츠를 입은 남자가 펜과 사진 몇장을 쥐고 있다.
파란색 셔츠를 입은 남자를 제외하고 나머지 사람들은 그를 쳐다보고 있다.
왼쪽에 안경을 쓴 남자는 짧은 머리를 하고 주먹을 쥐고 있다.
남자 옆에 있는 여자는 손을 오므리고 있다.
오른쪽에는 머리 긴 여자가 오렌지색 다이어리를 쥐고 있다.
그리고 그 여자 옆에 있는 여자는 보이지 않는다.
전체적으로 네 사람이 중간에 있는 사람이 유명인이라 사인을 받으려는 것처럼 보인다.

[말하기]
This is a picture of the street in a market.
In the foreground of the picture, there is a clock and several people sitting at the bench.
I guess It's a 6:05 P.M. because I can find it in a clock and it's a scene of sunset.
In the background of the picture, there are some buildings behind the road.
We can see an icecream machine in front of the blue building.
In front of the light orange building, there are several red tables and some chairs.
But I can't see people in the building.
Far away from buildings, there is a white building.
I guess it's the peaceful afternoon in the European market.

[해석]
이 사진은 시장 안 거리의 모습이다.
사진 앞부분에는 시계가 하나 있고 몇몇 사람이 벤치에 앉아있다.
아무래도 오후 6시 5분 같은데 시계에서 알 수 있고, 해질녘 풍경이기 때문이다.
사진 뒷부분을 보면 길 뒤로 건물 몇 채가 있다.
파란 건물 앞에는 아이스크림 기계가 있다.
옅은 오렌지색 빌딩 앞에는 몇몇 붉은색 테이블과 의자가 있다.
그렇지만 건물안에 사람은 볼 수 없다.
빌딩과 먼 곳에 하얀색 건물이 있다.
내 생각에 유럽 시장에서의 평화로운 오후 모습인 것 같다.

솔직히 쓴 내용들이 문법에 맞는지는 잘 모르겠다. 그렇지만 토익 스피킹은 문법보다는 흐름이 중요하다고 하니 계속 연습해 볼 수 밖에 없을 듯.
