토익 스피킹 - Style 1 : 읽어보자

※ 다음은 토마토 Speaking flow 내용을 참고하여 작성하였습니다.

 토익 스피킹 Style 1 문제의 경우 준비시간이 45초이고, 읽는데도 45초다. 그래서 준비 시간 동안 소리내서 읽어보는 게 좋다.

주로 내용은 광고, 공지, 방송 내용 같은 것들이 나오는데 실제로 내용 속의 화자가 된 것처럼 읽는 게 좋을 것 같다. 토익 스피킹은 발음이나 강세보다는 억양이 중요하다고 하니 내용마다 화자의 느낌을 롤 모델로 하나씩 정하는 게 좋을 것 같다.

 라디오 방송에는 라이언 시크레스트, 뉴스 내용에는 앤더슨 쿠퍼라든지, 광고를 할 때는 영화 광고에서 많이 들었던 그런 억양이라든지. (사실 그냥 내 의견이므로 크게 동의할 필요는 없다.)

 토익 파트 4 지문으로 연습을 하라는데 그냥 실제 영어 기사 등으로 하면 더 좋을 것 같다.

Hollywood blockbuster "Avatar" continued to remain the most-watched movie in Korea last week, taking command of the box office for the sixth weekend in a row, according to official box office figures on Monday.

Statistics by the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) showed that the sci-fi action flick drew in 633,881 viewers from January 22 to 24, totalling close to 10.3 million viewers since the film's opening in mid-December.

The James Cameron pic, currently the sixth most-watched movie in Korea's history after "The Host," "King and the Clown," "Taegukgi," "Haeundae" and "Silmido," is now just about 80,000 viewers away from moving a step up the chart.

The book is narrated by a teenage boy, Holden Caulfield, who is expelled from a private school, Pencey Prep, in Pennsylvania, and spends the next three days wandering around New York. Caulfield is mistrustful of authority, railing against corrupt adults and "phonies," and plans to decamp for the west.

 전화 녹음 안내는 찾기 어렵겠지만 이렇게 자기가 좋아하는 제품의 영문 사이트가 있다면 가서 연습해도 좋을 것 같다. 억양이 중요하니까 flow에 신경쓰면서 너무 어려운 사이트 보다는 쉬운 수준의 영어를 자꾸자꾸 읽어보는 것이 좋을 듯!
